More specifically, this project looks at the variety of internet subcultures that dominate with queer aesthetics, design, and storytelling.

This project realized that there is not one "aesthetic" of queerness, and nor is there one structure of queerness. Kara Keeling discusses this in thier 2014 piece, "queer os". Queer OS is a

The "aesthetics of queerness" are hard to pinpoint, but there are a few ways to describe a queer aesthetic.
One large way that queerness is portrayed is through something called "queercoding." This describes the stereotypes and preconceptions often used for LGBTQ+ characters in media, and
queercoding enforces the roles that queer people are often forced into. This extends to queer fashion, queer theory, and other methods of queerness.
